No, a referral is not required to access speech pathology services with us. You can contact us directly to book an appointment or discuss your concerns.


If you or someone involved in your child’s care has concerns about their communication, language, or overall development, it’s a good idea to speak with a Speech Pathologist. Early support can make a big difference.


Some common concerns include:

  • Difficulty saying certain sounds or words clearly
  • Limited vocabulary or late to start talking
  • Trouble telling stories or forming sentences
  • Difficulty understanding instructions
  • Using incorrect grammar or sentence structure
  • Stuttering or difficulty with fluency
  • Challenges with reading, writing, or spelling
  • Difficulty paying attention, remembering things, or solving problems
  • Trouble making or maintaining friendships


Yes! We support both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you’re unsure about how funding works or need help with the process, we’re happy to guide you.


Yes. If you have private health insurance with extras cover for speech pathology, you may be eligible to claim a rebate. Please contact your health fund directly to check your level of cover.


Fluent Minds Speech Pathology is registered with Medicare Australia. Depending on the nature of your child’s difficulties, your GP may provide you with a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) item 135. You are able to claim up to 5 sessions per year with Medicare. Please check your child’s eligibility with your GP.


We require notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee.
